What we select is kept (the fire), and the black becomes transparent. We want to remove the black, so this clip can be exported and then placed on top of other footage in another app or Resolve. This clip doesn’t have an alpha and shows fire on a black background. Davinci resolve fusion opacity free#In this example, we’ll be using the free fire clip. Rendering with Alpha from the Delivery Pageģ Ways Create Transparent Backgrounds 1. Now it's always available to you in Fusion. Davinci resolve fusion opacity windows#settings extension and throw it into your macros folder (on Windows that's \AppData\Roaming\Blackmagic Design\DaVinci Resolve\Support\Fusion\Macros. Just paste it into a text editor, save with. It has all controls of a Transform, including Effect Mask and Blend/Opacity slider. Boom! Got your custom Transform with merge attribute. If you want the Opacity in the merge node, you could also just combine a Transform node, a BG, and a Merge and make a macro out of that, exposing all Transform attributes and the Opacity of the Merge. This way you just have to ad a single node, it's clear what it does and it's very flexible, because it can be put anywhere in the node graph. You can just create a Macro from the BG and merge nodes, exposing the opacity slider and whatever other tools you want. It makes sense in the Merge node.Īs noted by Sander de Regt, the beauty of Fusion is its flexibility and modular workflow of nodes: When using Fusion, how often does it happen to you, that you add an effect and don't merge at least 2 images? That should be rather rare.Īnd "Opacity" doesn't have anything to do with transforming an image. To change the opacity, you have to merge it over something. For this simple operation you have to create 2 nodes (merge background).įor text nodes: In the "Shading" tab, there's an opacity slider. Right now it's not that easy thing, to animate opacity to a node (text, media, etc). Madwtf wrote:Well, I think everything is written in the subject)) Fusion nodes are like sequential building blocks: first you do this, then you do this etc. It's not like AE where you have layers that can be made transparent. I can understand your desire, but I'm afraid this is not something that would easily fit in the Fusion paradigm. How would you go about this? Would the color corrector change the color of the fading footage? Say you'd animate the transparency right there in the transform, but then you want to change the color. Something is usually only transparent in relation to something else, so it makes more sense to do it in the position of operations where it matters. Opacity is not part of that transformation. Try to remember that Fusion is a modular system, hence the nodes.įor example a transform is just that: you want to change the transform (rotation, scale, position) of a piece of footage/media/text/whatever. The opacity of a text node is relatively easy to animate. Why don't add this just inside the media/text nodes or to transform node?
